ABA ASTRA LLC presents baler twine from the Hungarian brand Agrotex.
In Hungary, a plastics plant with modern infrastructure stands on a 10-hectare site, where polypropylene twine of various types is produced on 1,800 m2 of floor space.
The twine is made by fibrillating and twisting drawn polypropylene film and is packed in 5–10 kg units in individual vacuum packs, coloured or white.

AGROTEX twine is moderately soft and elastic with consistent strength, unlike stiff domestic twine whose strength varies.
The elasticity of AGROTEX twine produces strong knots and a clean cut. Because it is soft and elastic, it does not slip off the guides of the baler’s knotter, which often happens with stiff domestic twine. Its softness also reduces friction as the twine runs through the baler’s guides, so the knotter parts wear less and last longer, and repair costs go down. That saves both money and time during forage harvesting.
Every AGROTEX spool is shrink-wrapped, and the wrapping is not just for looks. It holds the sides of the spool together, so when the twine runs out it does not tangle and every last metre is used. Domestic twine, by contrast, often tangles near the end and the spool collapses, costing the operator extra time and leaving scraps of twine that end up thrown away. At least 10% of the length of domestic twine is wasted.
Unlike other brands, AGROTEX is produced only at its plant in Hungary, and the quality is always high whether the twine goes to the domestic market, the EU or Ukraine. Most European manufacturers supplying Ukraine and the CIS do otherwise and make a “special product” for these markets, which means cheaper and therefore worse. And who wants to be treated as a second-class customer?
